Residential Support Services of Wake County, Inc.
"Serving Developmentally Disabled Citizens Since 1974"
Enabling Individuals to Live in Communities of Their Choice
Mission & Services
In 1974 a group of determined families founded our agency upon dedicated commitment to advocacy and human rights for all individuals. Following standards set by the State of North Carolina for quality services to developmentally disabled adults, the agency has moved forward to provide Group Home Services, Independent Living Services, and Supportive Living Services.
What We Do
Residential Support Services is committed to providing assistance to developmentally disabled adults. Our services are self-directed by those who receive them. Our professional staff serves as their support in organizing and implementing the services. Our Human Rights Committee and our Quality Management Team monitor services to ensure absolute compliance as set forth by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights as well as our own State of North Carolina rights statutes.
Group Homes
Residential Support Services operates three licensed group homes in Raleigh. Two of our homes serve adult men and one serves adult women. Each home is where individuals live and thrive in an environment suited for and responsive to those who live there. Staffing provides 24/7 supervision and assists each individual in their selected, meaningful daily activities, including work, education, and leisure.
Group Living Support
Residential Support Services operates two homes designed for group living support for individuals who want limited supervision in a home environment, promoting more independence. One home serves women and one serves men. Staff supports weekday supervision and guidance, with most evenings and weekends designed for independent living with staff remaining on call as needed.
Individual Support
Residential Support Services provides supportive living services to assist individuals residing independently within the community. Some reside in their own apartments, homes, or in home with their family or others. Care Coordinators support those by linking services according to the desires of each individual served. Direct Support Professionals work with individuals as directed.
